Alpine tower-house: a stack of four rooms and a mystical feel. Easy access to Lake Garda and A22 motorway to Austria

Tower-house / Veneto

“At times I feel your voice is reaching me from far away, while I am prisoner of a gaudy and unlivable present, when all forms of human society have reached an extreme of their cycle and there is no imagining what new forms they may assume. And I fear, from your voice, the invisible reason which makes cities live, through which perhaps, once dead, they will come to life again.” Italo Calvino, Invisible Cities

We call it the tower-house for its 80sqm internal floor area split over four floors, a very peculiar configuration that with the apparently secluded location gives this house a mystical feel.  Situated on the eastern slopes of Mount Baldo at 860m asl, in a small village with a population of less than 250 people, it is not as isolated as it may appear: 20 minutes to a 8000 people town, 1 hour to Verona city centre and to the airport, 40 minutes to Lake Garda. It is a 40 minutes drive to the A22 motorway that connects Bologna to Austria, therefore this is a very convenient location for mountain-lovers who appreciate the easy access to the Dolomites and the Alps.

It needs modernisation and a creative use of its stack of single rooms on top of each other, but it costs less than a small size car!
