Wallpaper article – Rem Koolhaas exhibition ‘Countryside’

Nobody knows whether it was pure coincidence that The Guggenheim Museum in New York opened the exhibition ‘Countryside, The Future’ on Feb 20th at the beginning of the new coronavirus pandemic. Curated by the famous architect Rem Koolhaas, it investigates the infinite complexities of our world and the fine balance between cities and countryside. Too focused on the urban areas, where almost two third of the population live, we forgot to take care of the countryside, considering it only as a bucolic land without recognising its important role in supporting the cities.

This Wallpaper* article by Eva Hagberg is a nice presentation of the exhibition and a valid introduction to the topic Countryside/Urban Areas
