An old barn is brought to a new life without damaging the essence of the original building

The architect Werner Tscholl is an absolute master in the art giving old building a new life whilst keeping the essence of the original building. Knoll house was an old hay barn with very little openings, Tscholl decided not to touch the massive ancient walls and instead replaced the rotten timber roof with a large lantern that feeds light to all floors. Genius!
