CNN travel “How Italy accidentally invented the perfect Covid-era hotel”
Interesting article by Valentina DiDonato and Antonia Mortensen about the albergo diffuso (scattered hotel) in Italy, that saved centuries-old villages that suffered from depopulation.
The idea is to revive an abandoned village by restoring its derelict buildings and using these as hotel rooms, but in this case the hotel is not a single block, but it is made of the various historic building of the village.
The article also feature an interview with our good friend Daniele Kihlgren, the creator of Sextantio, one of the most successful and beautiful albergo diffuso.
